T Minus 3 weeks.

Welcome to my inaugural blog!

My name is Fay Vincent and I am a 34 year old photographer based in North East Scotland.

Moi.
Three weeks today myself and my partner James or 'Jim' will be embarking on our first ever Campervan trip around beautiful Scotland (well it's really a nice modern Motorhome actually, however the former was chosen for the title purely based on rhyming suitability).

Now Scotland in the winter may not be the obvious choice of location and season you might think for our very first Motorhome trip, but once I get an idea in my head there is no going back and often it's deposits paid and house sitters arranged without much thought about the practicalities.

Escape 664 or 'home' for Christmas!
This holiday is no exception.

In fact, originally we were looking at a winter sun holiday in Eygpt, but who needs warm sunshine and drinks by the pool bar when we have an amazing Country to explore on our doorstep? Jim feels somewhat differently about this I might add, but I'm confident he will come round (right?!). After all he doesn't drive, so how hard can it be to get chauffeured around for a couple of weeks, look at some nice scenery and drink a few beers whilst I take a photo or two?

Route Map of trip

Speaking of Jim, he's what you'd call the 'reluctant explorer'. After years of travelling with the military, he would be quite happy to sit at home and watch the horse racing for two weeks and let Christmas pass by with no decorations, no tree and no fuss. It would be fair to say that often in the past our difference of opinion on this matter can lead to some 'heated debates'... (RIP Norman the Nordman - Christmas tree 2010) cut down in your prime on Xmas morning)

'I'm having a great time' expression
So Basically Jim has agreed to my whimsy on the proviso that Christmas is completely forgotten for the duration of the trip. I also have two unruly dogs that I decided to bring along just in case it wasn't going to be challenging enough. Molly and The Dobster are getting on a bit in years, have never experienced anything remotely like a two week jolly in a confined space so it might make for some interesting scenarios.

I've planned the trip pretty thoroughly, mainly due to the time of year as there aren't many sites open and I didn't want to be driving around in the dark hoping to find somewhere. The full itinerary is on Voyajo http://www.voyajo.com/viewPrint.aspx?trip=116374 but this may change due to the weather conditions or perhaps if on the brink of throttling each other we change our mind about the whole thing and go home!

So if you know us and think it will be amusing, or perhaps if you fancy doing this kind of thing yourself one day, give the blog a follow and I'll try to give a daily account of the trip, places we visit and of course a few photographs.
Molly enjoying her favourite pastime.
The Dobster enjoying HER favourite pastime.
Bye for now!
